As I said in my previous articles, free MMORPG industry is growing by leaps and bounds every year. New MMORPG and MMO games are being released on base nearly weekly here in the United States. Games like MapleStory Scions of fate and each have over 70 million people worldwide; That's right, every game has over 70 million people, while the most popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft, has just 10 million users. Of course this isn't exactly a fair comparison as World of Warcraft has a monthly fee, while the two games I mentioned it, but even so, it would be foolish to call the MMORPG free small. With such an incredible amount of popularity you imagine that free MMORPG would get much more attention from the main game networks, but don't.
Networks like G4 almost completely ignore gender free MMORPG. It is as if they don't recognize its existence. There aren't any more print magazines that follow free MMORPG, except perhaps a specialty publication with impractical. We analyze the free MMORPG market for a while. There are literally hundreds of free online MMORPG out in the United States already market with countless games currently in closed beta. MapleStory Nexon game in the United States alone makes over 30 million dollars a year and is expected to increase in 2008. With big publishers like Dia7maria, AeriaGames and Gpotato Netgame, release new games nearly every month, the industry is ready to continue to grow.
Only MMORPG that gets no attention at all outlets and magazines of the traditional game is World of Warcraft. We have heard a lot of buzz around Age of Conan as well, but it's still a pay to play the game. With the incredible growth of the MMORPG free I wouldn't be surprised if the pay to play the genre has been completely removed in the next 10 years. There aren't really any success pays to play more MMORPG out there due to strong competition. Previously popular pays to play MMORPGS such as Ultima Online and Everquest are losing subscribers every day. Players are flocking in addition to free to play MMORPG. Payment only true game that is performing well is World of Warcraft, and that phenomenon cannot last forever. Think about it; It would be as popular as it is today if it requires a monthly fee for access to Facebook? Of course not! Facebook is free to use, for consumers, because the company can make money through advertising and selling Facebook Gifts [little images can be sent to your friends usually a dollar]. If you look in the MMORPG free gifts of Facebook are like items in the cash shop. They allow the company to make money off a free product or service. I can't wait to pay to play business models still being around 10 years, there are already many free to play out there today and there will be only more in the future.
